A west-facing patio in the South Bay is hard to use from mid-afternoon until sunset. A pergola fixes that — filtered shade over the space you actually sit in, and a frame that makes the patio feel like a room. We build freestanding and house-attached pergolas in wood and low-maintenance lattice, sized to the patio under them and anchored properly to footings or the slab, and we can build the paver or concrete patio underneath at the same time.

Our Process

Design

We look at where the sun sits in the afternoon and size the pergola to the space.

Footings

Footings or anchors are set so the posts sit plumb and solid.

Frame

Posts, beams, and rafters go up, then the lattice or slats that make the shade.

Finish

Hardware is checked, the structure is cleaned, and the patio is ready to use.
